This medicine promotes the healing of corneal lesions by binding to fibronectin and promoting the attachment/repair of corneal epithelial cells. It holds water molecules inside the active ingredient molecule, thereby preserving/stabilizing tears, preventing the eyes from drying out.
It is commonly used to treat endogenous keratoconjunctival epithelial disorder such as Sjogren's syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and dry eyes, as well as exogenous keratoconjunctival epithelial disorder associated with postoperative, drug exposure, trauma and contact lens wear.
