Composition
The active ingredient of the drug is fludrocortisone acetate.
1 tablet contains 100 micrograms of fludrocortisone acetate.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, gelatin, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
This medicine should always be used exactly according to the doctor's recommendations. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Action
Cortineff contains fludrocortisone acetate from the group of mineralocorticosteroids, also known as steroids, which are hormones produced in the body by the adrenal cortex. They have a strong effect on the conversion of salts and mineral compounds in the body, as well as on the distribution of water (liquids) in the body.
Indications
Cortineff is indicated for the treatment of primary adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease) and adrenal syndrome with loss of salt. The drug can also be used for secondary insufficiency of the adrenal cortex.
Contraindications
Do not use Cortineff tablets in patients with allergies to fludrocortisone or any of the other components of this drug. Contraindications are also infections affecting several tissues and / or organs at once, and treatment has not been carried out.
Side effects
Like any medicine, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone has them.
Fludrocortisone can mask the symptoms of infection and reduce their severity, reduce resistance to infection and the ability to localize it.
Most of the side effects of fludrocortisone are characteristic of mineralocorticosteroids: water-electrolyte disorders, sodium and fluid retention in the body, edema, congestive circulatory insufficiency, loss of potassium, arrhythmias or ECG changes associated with potassium deficiency, hypokalemic alkalosis, increased calcium excretion and hypertension. Short-term use of the drug only occasionally causes side effects associated with glucocorticotropic activity.
Sudden discontinuation of fludrocortisone after prolonged use can lead to acute adrenal insufficiency, hypotension and death. The following withdrawal symptoms may occur: fever, muscle and joint pain, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, painful itchy nodules and weight loss.
These side effects are not all that can occur as a result of drug therapy. A more complete list of them can be found on the leaflet attached to the package.
