Treatment of severe bacterial infections.
Therapeutic benefits
INEM 500 mg for injection is a combination of two drugs: cilastatin (a dehydropeptidase inhibitor) and imipenem (an antibiotic). INEM 500 mg for injection is used to treat severe bacterial infections of the lungs, heart, bladder, skin, kidneys, bones, joints, blood, stomach and female reproductive organs. INJECTABLE DRUG INEM 500 MG can also be used in the treatment of patients with low white blood cell count and fever caused by bacterial infection. Cilastatin inhibits the enzyme dehydropeptidase, which causes the cleavage of imipenem, thereby helping imipenem to remain active for a longer time. Imipenem prevents the formation of a protective shell of bacteria necessary for their survival. In combination with INEM 500 mg for injection helps treat bacterial infections. Imipenem is a broad—spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
